IPL skin photo-rejuvenation uses intense pulsed light, which is emitted, in a series of gentle pulses to treat the face and body. The aesthetic laser centre has adopted photo-rejuvenation as a non-ablative alternative to laser skin resurfacing. The aim of these treatments is to improve the appearance of sun damaged and aged skin and firms up the skin by way of collagen stimulation.
WHAT IS LASER AND IPL PHOTO REJUVENATION?
IPL uses a broad spectrum of light, which is primarily absorbed by chromophore melanin (pigment in our skin, hair and eyes) and oxyhaemoglobin (blood). This allows us to selectively treat these areas without affecting the surrounding skin resulting in an improvement of pigmentation, fine lines, mild textural irregularities and vascular lesions. Individual results may vary.
