We offer microdermabrasion, for a light exfoliation of the skin, or a pamper prior to that special occasion.

How does it work? What can it do for me?

Microdermabrasion works by stimulating the skin healing process. A fine abrasion, coupled with suction, gently removes loose, dead cells and also clears blocked pores in a manner similar to a vacuum cleaner. This improved circulation brings oxygen and nutrients to refresh and regenerate your skin and allows for the proper discharge of the skin’s natural oils.

The removal of plugs and thickened areas of skin also allows skin medications and skin care products to be better absorbed.

With repeated treatments, this results in a smoothing of skin surface irregularities such as lines, scarring, sun damage and acne.

Who can benefit from Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is effective for rejuvenation of tired or dry skin as well as the treatment of acne and acne scarring, fine lines, open pores as well as rough, sun-damaged skin.

Microdermabrasion is recommended for acne prone or sensitive skin, there is no downtime and it is extremely beneficial to obtaining a more youthful appearance.

While there are very few situations when microdermabrasion cannot be used, we will advise you on this issue.

What happens in a typical treatment?

Microdermabrasion takes 45 minutes to one hour and can be done as a “lunchtime” treatment for a light exfoliation of the skin, or a pamper prior to that special occasion, or as a medical treatment for active acne.

How will I feel after treatment?

Our patients have reported finding it pleasant in the knowledge that it is improving the health of their skin. When treatment is completed the skin has a healthy glow due to the increased circulation which settles quickly. Mineral Makeup can be applied immediately if you need to return to work.

When will I see results?

Results are noticeable immediately. You will notice smoother, glowing and hydrated skin. Friends will make comments such as:

Acne clients will notice an improvement in the texture, tone and a number of active acne pustules usually within one week.
